Hey guys I have an 80 924 that I just repainted and had th le engine out of. It didn’t run before but the previous owner must’ve dicked around with the CIS adjustment and it doesn’t run. I’ve checked my timing to find out my pulley was the wrong way and my distributor is finally clocked right but it still doesn’t start. I get fuel out of the injectors but it still doesn’t run. Any idea if you can turn it all the way in then back it out or if there is some other way let me know.

Jump the fuel pump power and then turn the AFR screw to the right until the injectors start to spray just a little with the airplate at rest, and then turn the screw left until they quit spraying, for a good baseline, not pushing down on the allen wrench..

If the timing is correct (or at least all the markings are lined up on the flywheel, distributor, cam pulley and crank), you have fuel coming out the injectors you cant be far wrong. Check for any air leaks between the air filter housing and the inlet manifold and check for a spark then go from there

Check spark and compression.
