I would try and save ...its an '80

I also have a similar situation with an '82

Here's a full nut and bolt restoration going under the hammer soon. Anything is possible - http://www.silverstoneauctions.com/1979-porsche-924-turbo-s-1 I know this car and its has a ton of cash lavished on it, far more than the guide price suggests.
