A little update on our trip now that I have 12 free seconds to do it ....

French POS getting loaded onto a tow truck THE SECOND TIME ! :
French POS broken down THE FIRST TIME. Right smack in no-mans-land between the Serbian and Bulgarian borders :
Great trip with some good food, beautiful scenery (Serbia & Bulgaria are gorgeous) and loads of beer. Due to our unforeseen stopover in Sofia we met some really wonderful people and made some great friends. Bulgaria was the one country everyone warned us would be sketchy but actually proved to be the complete opposite. It is clean, the roads are very, very good, Sofia itself is modern and stylish, and the people were almost beyond friendly. We actually made the decision that Sofia itself would be the next home-base for the next trip over because of our incredibly positive experience. Also, it is so close to western Turkey, Greece and the beautiful Croatian coast it just makes sense.
