Hi guys - don't panic
"Typ 939" was used for the development of the 4 LeMans cars in 1980 and later for the GTS/GTR production cars. Even if the offical VIN of a GTS is 9371, all internal development documents and drawings started with 939. Same for the partnumbers. Here the left front fender:
GT: 937.503.105.02
GTS: 939.503.105.00
GTR: 939.503.107.00
So my 81-939 is a white GTS with "Clubsport" option. That includes rollcage, drysump oiling system, 270 PS,etc. It was the prototype of all GTS (VIN 001). A picture is in the registry.
and this shows the car 20 years ago...

Miles ? Don't know it exactly. The car was used as a training car during a rallye season with Walter Röhrl ( 2 times rallye world champion). Here's a nice shoot with his competion car that time:
The white car needed a complete rebuild after 20.000 km. Just a few kilometers driven since then....
Wealth ? Do you know how these cars are called here in Germany ? "Poor-Man's-Porsche" ! _________________ Regards,Tom

Ah, OK, yes, and it's already in the register, cool! I wasn't sure if the GTS's were at all referred to as 939's also, but you've clarified that, thanks! Rather cool to have picked up the first one! _________________ Vaughan Scott
