Thanks Todd, and thanks for the inspiration. Recall you sharing and discussing this about 2 years ago now.
Would have preferred 2 1/4" pipe but difficult to get here without paying about 3 times as much or shipping from US. Seems to work OK since its all pre TB. Can`t measure any pressure loss or more lag compared to with no IC. Takes 0.2 seconds for clutch to activate and build boost. Instant power. Love it.
Was good advice spacing IC and rad about 3/4". Sealed gap with soft rubber and so far works very well. Winter here ATM, average day is 20*C. Will see how rad handles it in summer with 40*C, over 100F. Noisy with the fan running though, hear air drawing through cores.
BOV is open to air. Can only just hear it at high RPM but others must judging by their looks. |

very cool to have the photos up and so inspiring to see the result and a bit daunting to see the amount of effort you put in, from those that have an idea just how much - hats off for every mount, hole and hose. Love the colour scheme and the gleam. Nearly 9lb of boost (!) I wanted to ask questions like; so thicker head gasket? did you do stuff to the head? what is the throttle body? Did you increase the size of the plenum? what did the dyno cost to get it tuned up and what efi system, drivetrain mods? Then I saw over 150 oages of posts so thanks a lot for your contribution to the forum for those who would follow in your wake, we can mine that for clues. Must be a an absolute hoot to drive or is it boring already? Thinking of water/alc injection or nitrous or... where to next? My sc14 is glaring at me, back to the wrenches... _________________ There is more to heaven and earth than is dreamed of in your philosophy... |
