Check this out..
http://16vt.free.fr/931/Porsche%20924%20Turbo%20Service%20Info-1.pdf
Did you know that the M471 has a different steering rack?
It says the standard ratio is 20.87:1 and the M471 is 22.1:1
Interestingly it also says that the rear disks and calipers are 928 parts, the front disks are 911 parts, front wheel bearings are 911 parts, and the front calipers are 928 parts..
M471 steering knuckle has a 6,5mm longer steering arm
M471 rear camber is different..
The manual calls for 20/50 engine oil _________________ 80 Turbo - Slightly Modified |

I think the rack is the same, but the slower ratio comes from the longer steering arms in the spindle. Thankfully the parts are shared, hence discs etc are reasonably priced and many racing pads are available. Im glad all 931s have that setup over here the manual have always recommended different viscosities for different climates, most of those specs are outdated, no need run a 20w50, except if you don't want oil to be pumped around when your engine is cold. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

That’s just a full sugar RoW turbo for us. You guys over the pond got strangled motors, 4 lug hubs etc. So essentially the sugar free version unless you paid extra for the full fat _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

I assume the 4 lug was to compensate all the additional emission stuff, otherwise it would be hard to get any profit at all on a small volume car like the 931. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

FTP? I don't recognize the acronym..
I became aware of a Porsche .pdf on a variation of the free.fr site so I snooped around it some more and found a bunch more interesting manuals there..
Their is also a 931 S2 manual + others..
Edit: Ah, I see this is your site..
I hope you don't mind.. Subbed to your YT too.. _________________ 80 Turbo - Slightly Modified |
