If I were do to a direct swap the chambers could be scribbed to the block and reworked to reflect the new situation. On other fronts, I have been looking at the possibility of do a rocker arm setup which would allow for a proper spacing |
Just because I'm curious, if you off-center the bores would you also need to fashion a brand new crankshaft to deal with the off-centered rods? |
I think what Ideola meant was that you could put a 96mm bore center head on to a 95mm bore center block.
What was nice about the Mitsu head was that it came from a smaller bore motor thus grouping the 4 valves for a smaller bore. Now pop that head theoretically on to a 924 block that was bored out to say 88mm as in the example, it would work, albeit each combustion chamber would be uniquely shifted for a corresponding bore. Ignoring mounting and coolant passages of course. If I made a billet head utilizing existing mitsu, volvo, or other hardware plus cam(s) but designed the head for the 924 block and as much stock 924 bolt on parts as makes sense, we are in business.
Totally Off Topic...dropping a new battery into the '82 and possibly test driving it home. I need a 931 to drive to 92Forty! _________________ 1980 931 since 1989

Is this a part for the turboencabulator, built, I believe, by Rockwell International? You seem to have gotten a hold of a top secret drawing _________________ 1980 931 since 1989

I'm not sure, I can't see the presence of cardinal grammeters or nova-trunnions on the dingle arm. _________________ 1979 931 with a 350 chev

I've had a couple people ask and at least one car that needs to get this installed. Haven't posted much but have been working on a few 924 things...this being one
So if anyone remembers I had a code issue that killed the last one (I lodged a broken tool in it ). Works but I need a clean one
Here is an updated video of one being produced now. My issue is now long solved. Just needed to apply it to this mount project. As I progress, I am improving production speed despite my choice of somewhat flowing organic surfaces in some areas.

Essentially done with tumbled finish (need to adjust size of oil feed hole if anyone notices)
Almost 2 Lbs US or -820g shaved away. Probably could tweak this further..
Going to installation phase
