Hello 924 community!
I am reaching out to find replacement dog teeth for the first gear of my '79 016Z Snailshell transaxle. If anyone out there has refurbished this transmission and replaced/refurbished the dog teeth of that vital first gearset 477302901A, I could really do with a hand. I have been searching for over 6 months to no avail. Currently exploring the possibility of having multiple dog teeth rings made for others out there with the '79 924 dogleg 5 speed.
Thanks! Alain

In the same boat (I the US), the 79 NA specifically has a gearbox spec that's different from the other 911/924 Getrag G31 versions. No one seems to make replacement dog teeth short of custom gears. Considering swapping a 986 G86 5 speed box, they're cheap and plentiful. Not sure what fabrication is needed for fit. Anyone out there have any info

that swap would be way above my fabrication level
You would need custom wheels driveshafts, custom mounts and custom adapter between the tranny and driveshaft)
just in parts you'll have way more cost than having a custom gear built.

If someone can get a good gear out or find the original specs/drawings of the gear I am sure getting a new one built would be cheaper.
