2.5L is not good for direct turbo....you need to spend a lot of money to get that engine ready for turbo.
Also to get the 2.5 in your 924 is a VERY big project.

For only 250hp why not turbo charge the standard engine? Its been done before successfully. Probably much less work than changing to the 2.5.

Honestly, you pick the wrong car to build a GT replica.
It would be much easier to swap all you body parts on a 924 turbo with 5 bolt.

The 924 turbo is similar engine to yours, still 2L.
2.5L is 100% Porsche engine.
unfortunately for 2000 you cant get 250HP..not from the 2.5L engine.
For 2000 you can get belts and a good front end service on the 2.5L

Its sad that most pictures are now down, but this guy knows how its done.

Raceboy on this forum also built a strong turbo converted 2.0.
http://924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=21735&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Both use a standard 924 engine as far as I know, but of course it involves fabrication for the turbo piping and also for the fuel injection. The clutch will also need to be upgraded. The key is to have a good setup with a modern turbo, (Mitsubishi TD04 #6 exhaust housing, 18t compressor is a very good option), large intercooler and most importantly someone very competent who does the engine calibration.
