2.5L is not good for direct turbo....you need to spend a lot of money to get that engine ready for turbo.
Also to get the 2.5 in your 924 is a VERY big project. _________________ https://www.the924.com |

For only 250hp why not turbo charge the standard engine? Its been done before successfully. Probably much less work than changing to the 2.5. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

Honestly, you pick the wrong car to build a GT replica.
It would be much easier to swap all you body parts on a 924 turbo with 5 bolt.

The 924 turbo is similar engine to yours, still 2L.
2.5L is 100% Porsche engine.
unfortunately for 2000 you cant get 250HP..not from the 2.5L engine.
For 2000 you can get belts and a good front end service on the 2.5L _________________ https://www.the924.com |

Raceboy on this forum also built a strong turbo converted 2.0.

Both use a standard 924 engine as far as I know, but of course it involves fabrication for the turbo piping and also for the fuel injection. The clutch will also need to be upgraded. The key is to have a good setup with a modern turbo, (Mitsubishi TD04 #6 exhaust housing, 18t compressor is a very good option), large intercooler and most importantly someone very competent who does the engine calibration. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo
