Nice car, needs bigger tires and some spacers for the rears.
The 2.5L motor is very different...its going to be hard to convert.
Better buy a 924 turbo motor, its easier. _________________ https://www.the924.com |

I have for sale the complete kit that you need to convert, including electrical system for the engine bay.
The 2.5 is completely different, you need to cut and weld the chassis of your car to install the 2.5L. Also, completely different electrical system is needed. _________________ https://www.the924.com |

I wouldn't mind getting the 2.5, lots of work for a not so impressive engine. I would do an efi and turbo conversion of the 2.0 instead, lots of power to be made with a good setup, and a simpler, cheaper and more robust base engine. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

The 2.5 supports are completely different.
The 2.5 electricals are completely different.
Even the fuel pump needs to be changed as the 2.5L works on 3bar and the 2L on 5-6bar.
Fuel lines also changed and so on...the 2.5 is a completely different car to the 2L. _________________ https://www.the924.com |

The 924 and 924S/944 have completely different engine mounts. But as you have a 944, then this is perfect as you will need many, many parts to convert 924 to 944 engine, torque tube, gearbox, brakes, suspension, hubs etc etc. _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

The torque tube and geabox wont work for the 2.5L.
Also the drive shafts are different, brakes as well.
The 2.5L engine is not ready for turbo, it will not be a simple task to make it into a turbo engine. You need new custom pistons as minimum as well as new MAP system instead of AFM...the 2.5L NA is a worse start for a turbocharged application than the 2L NA...especially if the base car is a 924.
Your best choice is to make the 2L turbo or buy a 2L turbo engine _________________ https://www.the924.com |

+1, very nice looking car.
What year? 4 or 5 wheel bolts?
Reaching 250hp will no be an easy task.
In my opinion, you have few options:
-Buy a 924 turbo engine for your car and enjoy an easy 200-220 hp.
-Sale both of your cars (924 and 944) and buy a 944 turbo.
-Enjoy your car as is.
