While cleaning my euro pistons I noticed today one of then has been dented.
Can I still use this pistons in a rebuilt engine or will this damaged my cylinder walls of the block?

Sorry for the delay on the picture, as you can see the dent is on top portion of the skirt and scratch is on the side of the skirt.

That piston MIGHT be usable if it's cleaned up first. BUT, if something goes wrong, there goes your block and you could need more than just a piston. Those high spots could cause hot spots and pistons can warp when they seize (which it did soft seize). So even if you make it visually perfect, it still might not be perfect.

If you want to use it, ask yourself these questions: How much time will it take to tear down the engine again? How much is a new block worth if it doesn't work? How much is a rebuild kit and new piston? How reliable do you need it to be?

Now assuming you just get a new piston: How much is a new piston that you might be buying eventually anyway?

If it were me, I'd just source another one. I like my cars to be reliable and I don't like rebuilding engines twice if I can help it. In my shop, if it doesn't look perfect, it doesn't go in.

Sorry for the bad news,
Eric

I would not use that piston. It appears that something went thru the combustion chamber. Skirt wear isn't awful, but those crescent dimples / defects on the ring lands and skirt are going to cause problems.
