Yea, I've had the car for about 15 years. Took me to great places, gave me wonderful memories and made me bond friendships all over the world.

Since the guys doing the overtake did not stop and nobody can identify them, the police have blamed me for driving outside of my lane and the result will either be i pay a fine or i get my licence suspended.

Insurance wont pay for my car
I lost the tub, and everything that was damaged during the crash.
I can always transplant to another tub but not sure i want two 924s again since i always had a hard time choosing between which to drive(even the day of the crash) and had little time to spend on them...so maybe i'll keep the 931 for now since i love it as it is, its a bit lonely in the big garage but i'll see if i want to rebuild the GTS wannabe at a later time.

I'm not too upset about the car, it was my life long project but it owed me nothing. I had more fun and happiness out of that car than effort and money I put into. I reached this thought years ago when I said, if today this car bursts into flames and nothing comes of it I'm still going to be happy for the great time it made me have. So I guess that day has come, and added to the great experiences it gave me one more thing, walk out of a severe crash without even a scratch.

I cant recommend the 924s enough for what they can offer from the moment you're thinking of buying one up until their last moment.

Many thanks to everybody sending in kind words and help offers.

This really was a loved car, everybody loved it.

I'm very sorry to be the one to have the bad luck of crashing it, but also I'm grateful to it for countless and priceless moments that I will forever remember. I respected the car and to the very end it treated me right.

Who knows, i may bring it back someday in one way or the other

Somebody once told me that the 924 is my guardian angel...guess now its the 931s turn to take care of me...at least for a while.

Here are just a few of some of the pics i love of this car.

Its not just my loss, its everybody's loss as many loved that 924.
We're like a big family, we and our 924s.

Life moves on, nothing lasts forever.
Enjoy your 924s.

Making the race car wider...and a bit faster (big shout out to Casey Purifoy for helping burn a few cigars and get this project under way)

Building out a new race motor with euro-spec pistons, a custom grind cam and some other goodies.

Looking at entering her in a few chumpcar (now Champcar) races in 2019. I have run at Watkins Glen for dual 7 hour races and the 24 hours of VIR with another team in 2017 and was very impressed with the prep of cars, professionalism of drivers, and just good fun racing. Not the chumpcar I had imagined. Have honestly had way more fun than in SCCA (not knocking SCCA, still plan on a race or two with them...but nothing like 2 hours in a car

If anyone is potentially interested in racing in chumpcar in 2019 let me know. Nothing concrete yet, just judging any interest.

Its a BMW, I know, but here is the team I raced with at the Glen and the VIR 24 hour...Racing for Heroes (check out their facebook page). Really great team (we finished 24th out of 102 teams at the 24hrs....that's right...finished

Me and the Old man on the right after the 24hrs

Cheers!

It's always a pleasure to come wrench with you Ian. I hope I can get down there this weekend. Maybe (BIG maybe) I can bring Gertrude. She's nowhere near as clean as Alice but hella fun to drive. I haven't had much time to troubleshoot this weak spark problem but if she'll make it to work and back a few days I'll risk it. Cheers!

P.S. I Love the flares. The new build is going to be a blast. I may be a bore this year but we are setting up for a good 2019. I'll work on the brake duct intakes soon.
