Here is a FIA Certified + MSA Blue Book (UK spec) weld in cage produced by Safety Devices and installed by a highly regarded expert in 924/944/968 race cars.
Essentially the same as my bolt in cage but with additional X door bar and transmission tunnel brace.

Brockoli,
No, 1.75" DOM, is not needed per regulation, but I do have a few sticks left over from a Jeep build. Rather than re order, I figured I would utilize it for this project. It is slightly overkill, there will be a small weight penalty, and the bar will be 1/8" lower in the passenger compartment than 1.50", but I think it will still work out.
Thanks to everyone for the info / cage / bar pictures; great stuff! Feel free to keep adding |
