Haven't done much on my car since I found out the fuel distributor shit the bed. Sent it off to be rebuilt on Friday, should have it back in a month. All is well though, took some time over the last few weeks to amalgamate all of my random boxes of parts into one (semi) cohesive pile. I just got tired of ordering spare parts that I already had but forgot about because they are buried in a box somewhere. Some pics of all the crap in my house now :
The first pic is of a random turbine wheel from a parts lot. If anyone can decipher the numbers please let me know...

The new racks with some parts. The red and blue bins below are for Olive and Sabine respectively and contain all of the NOS parts for the cars :

Washed up some plastic bits. Turns out 1 set is almost new, yay.

Pile of 931 front control arms. I was going to blast them and have them powder coated to sell but I just don't have the time. If anyone needs a set let me know.

I added 2 more to the box after I had taken the picture. About 4 of them are good usable units, spin freely with no shaft play, 1 is rebuilt and then I have the NOS 6.10 for Olive. If anyone needs one let me know. I am trying to clear house and get rid of some of this stuff, posted a bunch on Ebay yesterday. All of the turbos are 2664 4.10 North American configuration.

If that in-tank pump will work on a regular 924 as well, I'd like to know what you want for it shipped to 61107 US?
Also I know others already said this but holy shit that box of turbos. |

Got a surprise email telling me my fuel head is back from rebuild. Woot. Dude left out the adjustment sealing screws though, going to call tomorrow and ask where they are...
Hopefully this fixes the reason the car wasn't running right. Now to install and take her to the old VW guy in Van to tune her for CO etc..
Won't be until next spring the new motor is done so I will have to suffer until then I suppose.

Goldwolf,
Yup, same guy. Crazy fast turn time compared to John @ Special T. Last time I sent John a metering head and two WUR's it took me over 4 months to get them back and even then it was because I called him 3 times a week to hound him for the stuff. Decent job to be sure but I don't know if he's just overwhelmed with work or the Porsche stuff goes to the back of the line while he does the Delorean stuff, who knows. I actually called him first to see about a quote for this head and the lady that answered the phone said she would get back to me. Never did. So they lost the business and I decided to try CIS Flowtech. Good communication, fast turn time.
The finishing of the component isn't quite what Special T does, meaning the thing was not stripped and sand blasted before re-assembly, but it was obviously chemically cleaned. If you want show car quality and have the time go with Special T, if you want it done fast and are a function over form guy then CIS Flowtech is the one. _________________ 1979 Euro 931, Olive

Added one more today. This one is a 2660 4.10, I think all of the others are 2664s.
I went down to beautiful Gig Harbor, WA to look at two 931s, (an S1 & S2). They are both OK but I was particularly looking for a mint bodied car and these both had more things needed than I was willing to fix. The gentleman that owned them had years and years worth of parts however and I didn't want to leave empty handed so I grabbed 2 bins worth of assorted S2 engine parts that were cleaned and stored well. Basically an entire motor really, minus the block and crank. I will sell off what I don't need and keep some bits for Olive.
I also had a chance to call Luke at Beaverton Porsche and get the fuel lines that I had ordered from Germany 3 months ago. The best among them is the main return hardline that tucks up and over the torsion bar carrier and couples with the flex that runs into the tank. On Olive the line itself is corroded very badly, so much so that I cannot move / remove it without fear it will just snap. Also got a new flex return line, front passenger side brake hard line, hard line coupling nuts and a bunch of other bits. Feel pretty good about that. It will be a peaceful feeling to know that all of those parts are brand spanking new and the brake pedal will never sink to the floor again like it did in Denver.
I will sort out the spare parts this evening and take some pictures for anyone interested in parts.

I might be interest in that 2660 4.10 if you're planning on selling it.

4...lol...
Seriously, info on different k26 turbo here:http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=15595&highlight=k26

If I understand correctly, the difference is 4% (60% vs 64%) of compressor inducer. _________________ 1976 924 N/A ROW SOLD

So the 60 will spool faster then I guess...meh.
Oh, I see from the list that the 2660 is an '81 Row 931 turbo. That explains why I one have the one and all of the others are 2664.

I made that swap from 2660 to 2664, it changed the character quite a bit. The 2660 had very good low end repsonse, but during track driving power got really soft when things got really heated up. The 2664 is definitely less responsive at cruising speed, but much more exciting at higher revs. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo
