|

Anybody knows how many digits the original pricetag on a 924 Carrera GT showed back in 1981?
The registration tax on veteran cars(more than 35 years old) here in Denmark is based on some calculations which includes the original price of the car.
So I would like to calculate the tax before I start making a Carrera replica.(It have to be registrated as a Carrera for the car to be legal). _________________ 76 924 (PARTS)

Not because of the visual parts, more because of the intercooler and upgraded horsepower or both the parts and increased hp because:
1: If you upgrade a car with all the parts from a "face-lifted" model you have to pay new tax for the later version of the car.
2: You are only allowed to increase the horsepower with 20%, so going from a 924 with 125 hp or a turbo with 170 to the carrera's 209 hp is more than allowed - then it is also necessary to re-registrate the car and pay new tax but then you are driving in a legal car.
I was just curious, maybe the difference in price from a 931 to a 937 was not so big back in 81'? and then it was worth to think about which identity the car should have when registrated for the first time(where I should pay the tax). _________________ 76 924 (PARTS)

I will see if i can find it in my old magazines, it was a very expensive car back then.
Will be interesting if anyone even notice the intercooler/bigger turbo next time i do vehicle inspection, i highly doubt it, most have never seen such a car. You can get away with lots of modifications on older cars here. But i guess Denmark is a little bit anti car, at least if you look at the taxes _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

On my 1979 931 the calculated tax is 9-10.000 $ just for license plates. The tax on veteran cars is 40% of the original price of the car. _________________ 76 924 (PARTS)

Just to rub it in a little. I paid $25 to have my car registered a couple weeks ago. _________________ 1981 Weissach Edition #179 |

Same in Denmark, but even if it is not noticed at car inspection, it is still not legal and if you (hope not) crash the car(insurrence involved) or pulled over by tax authorities they will inspect the car into all details and then you got a problem... a BIG problem...
They will confiscate the car and you will get a fine equal to the tax, after that you will only get the car back when you pay the right tax. _________________ 76 924 (PARTS)

There are many areas in which I admire Denmark (and also Finland, Sweden, Norway) but that is definitely one of those that I just cannot stand...
Giving the extremely low number of such classic cars in our area (northern Europe) general, it is crime to tax owning them in such a harsh way.
Luckily we do not have any owning tax here, just annual MOT (~35 euros per car), insurance (~140 euros per year for my 162 kW 924) and gas taxes (gas is around 1.1 euros at the moment per litre).
There has been debates about taxing cars (from retarded socialists) but the idiots forget that we already pay taxes by consumtption, that is called excise duty which makes around 65% of the gas price.
At the moment they are clear minority and I sure hope it stays that way. _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

Going ?! Too late Homey, it's GONE to shit and not just because of car taxes, lol.
Wonder if they will impose a similar tax on the camels of the latest 'Europeans' to come in ...hrm
As a semi-socialist-LibTard run country we get taxed to hell on many things but they would never mess with our cars. I just registered Olive and paid a grand total of $234 Canadian dollars. (which is about $2.65 USD) I can make any and all modifications I could ever want including dropping in a 1,000 BHP crate motor and it changes....nothing. (except my gas bill)
Retarded socialist eco-nazis think they can change the world by going 'green' ? Not going to happen. Visit just two countries, India and China, and have a look at the toxic mess there. You will soon realize you cannot make a difference. I am not promoting pollution here but I am a realist and know that the science itself says that unless EVERYONE is on the program then it won't make a lick of difference. And we all know that is not going to happen unfortunately.

I'm totally with you brother.
Funny stuff with the camels lol.
I can accept that laws limit or control the smount of modifications done to a car but strapping an intercooler, a set of fenders and a bumper to require more taxation and re-registering is completely retarded and not necessary. _________________ https://www.the924.com |

In the UK all Carrera GT’s are registered as a 924 turbo on the V5 registration document. There are circa 60 924 turbos taxed to be used on the road. It’s impossible to tell how many are 924 turbo or Carrera GT’s. Iirc a 924 turbo was circa £13k. A Carrera GT was £19k. A 911 turbo was £21k. _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife
