Did some reading here and I can't find the answer, what is the difference between a 4.10 and 6.10 turbo?
How this difference would translate on the road/car feel/spool/lag/etc..?
Thanks _________________ 1976 924 N/A ROW SOLD

The number is the turbine housing nozzle/volute size.
The 4.10 is smaller so gives better response at low revs but causes more back pressure at high revs. _________________ 1979 UK 932 |

I replaced the 4.10 turbine on my Series 2 931 with a 6.10 from the S1, mated to the later compressor. I recommend doing the same. It spools up a tiny bit later (there's loads of lag anyway), but blows right up to 7000rpm (or what the tacho tells me is 7000rpm) and makes the car much more eager if you keep it spooled up. I have done 12,000 miles since tinkering with the turbo (on an engine that has now done 240,000 miles without a rebuild) and everything seems ok. There is a reason that 0-60 is about half a second slower on a stock S2! _________________ 1984 924 Turbo
