Best bang for the buck upgrade on the S1 is one of my in-cockpit boost controllers and a water-meth injection kit (which I resell, but need to add to my site).
I also provide the only bolt-on intercoolers for the 931, but these will require upgrading your intake and throttle body to the S2. I have four spare setups on hand for any S1 owner interested in adding one of my intercoolers.

A good idea is to first identify your turbo on the little plate that sits on the compressor housing, so you know where you are starting.
Regarding IC, I went for a design similar to "FastEddie313" did here on this board, im in the process of clutch and turbo change, so engine is out, and IC on the way in. Progress can be followed in my thread if you are interested.
Here is a pic from Fasteddie313 thread, his links are all dead, so no pics there anymore.
My installation is a bit more "upmarket" though with new alu-pipes and silicon hoses, but it will probably work similarly anyway. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

List of possible upgrades:
Atmospheric bypass valve-Which brand do you recommend? Only if the intake temps are intercooled or charge cooled
Inter cooler-Has anyone have a list of what to buy to install a 944 Turbo one? No list, just cut away, re welded and installed as we went along
Waste Gate spring-Which should I use? Don't need one with boost controller
Any other upgrades do you recommend? Your wallet, more dollars

Check which turbo you have
Check compression ratio and general engine wellness
More boost will give HG problems
More power will give cooling issues. Radiator and oil cooling need to be spot on _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

Photo@$ckit killed all my pics ??
That's a damn shame, I had all sorts of crazy crap on here..
Maybe I'll be able to get around to fixing some of them some day, but I have basically no time anymore, working in the oilfield..
I've been thinking about hiring someone to do my megasquirt wiring for me so I can get the poor 931 back together.. I have all the pieces just chillin..
A nice little upper for you guys..
I just bought an M3 for a DD, the Porsche is definitely faster.. GF says the M is fast but the Porsche just sucks you into your seat
Even though my stuff is pretty much all chopped up schoolbus parts thanks for the recognition of my work..
All the pics are in here http://s1366.photobucket.com/user/edleclair/library/
Also here is the first of a 2 part video showing my ic routing n whatnot.. https://youtu.be/X2jbkENELMk
