Hi,

I'm hoping to purchase a 924 that's been standing in someone's driveway for about 17 years. It's in decent condition but I haven't asked the owner if they would like to sell the car yet . I'm going to ask in June. However, I've come across a body kit for the 924 that I like the look of. Are these still being produced ? Is it possible to get a copy of the body kit made and if so how much would it cost ? Many thanks.

I am not aware of anyone who makes that kit.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I guess I won't be converting my 924 into a BMA.

However, I was also considering turning the 924 into a cabriolet if I couldn't get the BMA conversion done. Does anyone still produce the cabriolet conversion kit for the 924? I believe there was a company called Bieber that produced them.

Bieber Cabriolet GmbH is no more…
And my guess is there is no market for 924 cabrio conversions in 2017.
I see them up for sale though; Catch one and you're done

Standing for 17 years? Not moved/run in 17 years? Walk away. there's plenty of cars running that will make more sense than one thats stood that long

Very few Bieber conversions out there, maybe two in the UK. Can't recall the last UK/EU car for sale.

If you are looking for a 924 thats a little different, then try here https://www.autographspecialistcarsltd.com/spyder They are occasionally on https://porsche924.co.uk/forum/index.php here in the UK.

I think it has been moved a few times but it's been in the same position for quite a long time now.The thing is that I'm a student and have some money that I've saved up for the car. I have around £2000 which will increase over these few months to spend on the car but I've spoken to someone that breaks 924s in the UK and he's said that I should be able to purchase this particular one for around £500. I'd be willing to put in the work myself to get it running. It's parked on concrete and there isn't any obvious signs of rust. It's an 80s model so I guess it's galvanised ?

My grandparents used to live on the road that it's parked on and I used to cycle down to the car as a child just to see it. If I'm honest it's one of the cars that got me into cars and especially Porsches. You could say I'm slightly attached to the car.

Couple of months ago there was a Bieber on mobile.de, looks like it's still there: http://suchen.mobile.de/auto-inserat/porsche-924-porsche-924-cabrio-tuv-neu-top-dausenau/241920834.html

There's a couple of biebers here in sweden, probably way cheaper than rest of europe. If anyone wants one i might be able to hook you up with the right people

To be honest if I can't convert it to a cabriolet it won't really be that much of a loss for me as this 924 has been fitted with an aftermarket sunroof that is made of glass.

It was just a thought as it's something different and who doesn't love a bit of wind in the hair. Furthemore, a cabriolet 924 loses one of its most admired traits in terms of practicality which is the amount of trunk space you get. I guess I'll keep it the way it is if I hopefully purchase it.

I extremely appreciate the responses. I'm a new member and you all seem like very nice people. Thank you.

One of our members did a custom 931 cab using his years of fiberglass boat building experience. Probably pics around someplace.
