Is it easiest to install mounts on engine, then lower into place on crossmember or install mounts in crossmember and lower engine onto mounts? I'd think the former but what do I know... _________________ 87 924S project, '83 944 engine,

My mounts seem to key into the crossmember so they would need to be in the crossmember first. I do have a spare starter/alternator harness if you still need one. _________________ 87 924S |

Thanks, I'll do a test fit to see which is easiest.
I may very well need an alternator/starter harness. I don't know what I'm getting in my second load from Plyhammer. I had asked him for a gazillion things but not sure how much he came up with but I'm 90% I'll need that yet. _________________ 87 924S project, '83 944 engine,

I have the vacuum switch and the fuel vent part pulled off my parts car. Did you see the post in general about the 92forty event in September? I will send the parts Monday. _________________ 87 924S |

Yes, Mark at Plyhammer said he did not have that tank vent stuff so I'll need it. I'd like that alternator harness too since he didn't mention that he had one so I doubt it's in the box. PM me what I owe you and many thanks.
I have to go to Florida as my Mom is quite ill down there so I won't be around to play with Porsche for a while.
I would LOVE to take this thing to that 924 celebration. It "might" be ready then. We'll shoot for it!
Oh, BTW I haven't figured out the brake booster fitting yet either, I know I need to rig something up in that hole to attach a hose to, at some point. _________________ 87 924S project, '83 944 engine,

I have the booster grommet and check valve stuff too. Mine won't be together in time for the event but my wife and I will be there in my jeep. _________________ 87 924S |

I would drive my X1/9 over there, since I finally got it all ironed out it's rock solid but going through Chicago always seems to drag down into grid lock and that's the kiss of death for my old manual over-heating prone sports car, it'll run all day out in the country and I have several times, 300 mile days, no problem, 20 minutes in a traffic jam and it starts to get really grumpy (me too) _________________ 87 924S project, '83 944 engine,

yep, typing this from a hotel room near O'Hare, Chicago, traffic was a disaster, on a Sunday afternoon, go figure. Not taking anything old and cool anywhere near a big city unless it's on a trailer. _________________ 87 924S project, '83 944 engine,

Sorry. I didn't get the parts shipped today. I still need to pull a few things off my parts car. I had 3 granddaughters over all weekend and it rained most of the weekend. As soon as I get a dry afternoon I will get it all together and on the way. I hope all goes well for you on your trip. We have been dealing with elderly parents health issues here too. _________________ 87 924S |

No problem at all, I won't be back in Michigan for several days at the earliest. Toy cars have been pushed into the background. _________________ 87 924S project, '83 944 engine,

I have your care package ready to ship. I am sending you the following parts. 1 the little vacuum sensor thingy at the back of the engine. 2 brake booster grommet with check valve and the small plastic tube that runs across top of firewall. 3 the fuel vent parts to the right of brake booster. 4 starter alternator harness. Keep in mind these parts are off an 84 944. You might have to modify the harness and change the bracket on fuel tank vent part. _________________ 87 924S |
