Since I bought the car, I started gathering all the parts needed for EFI.

Now the intake manifold is almost completed. I showed the design of Ideolas intake manifold to a friend, and he started building it based on that design.

When test fitted, the only thing on the way was the coolant reservoir. I just need to relocate it and then it will fit perfectly

It clears the alternator

You can also swap over to the 944 style coolant reservoir, which is superior as it has a true pressure relief cap, less likely to swell and burst, and fastens more securely to the fender than the OEM 931 unit.

Thanks! This was the easiest yet functional way to go! The intake manifold design form Ideola was a big help!

I will keep you guys posted when all the parts are done and the car is running.

Thanks for the help! The reservoir was starting to break so im going to definitely get a 944 style.

Small updates on the project.

I decided to tackle down the turbo rebuild myself. It was really straightforward, and the instructions by forum member bnoon were very useful. The turbo is a series 1 6407. I also had 81 6022 but decided to go with the series 1.

6022

6407

Everything organized

Tank alternative - Scirocco unit is far more robust than the 931 piece, drops in, and costs less than $20.

UPDATE

Testing the new parts out on the 931 head I use for measuring.

Will use a Mitsubishi evo 9 intercooler

Next step, start wiring the computer and all the sensors needed for EFI.
