hello I am new to the Porsche brand, I have just acquired a 1981 924 turbo, currently not running, the external fuel pump is bad, and fuel distributor needs attention, my question is where is the best place to order fuel pump, fuel filter and fuel distributor refresh kit?[/url]

I have bought parts from Ideola in the past and highly recommend them:

http://garage.ideola.com/ Maybe they can help you out.

Thanks Michael!

You can eliminate the in-tank pump and replace it with the standard filter from a 924S/944. I don't have that part listed on my site, but pretty sure I can get it.

We recommend the Walbro GCL604-1 for the external pump. I have several cars running on these now, as well as several customers, including racers, who are using these pumps.

For the fuel distributor rebuild, we don't carry those parts. There is an outfit on eBay who sells them, but they don't offer wholesale pricing, so I usually just refer my customers to them directly.

The other option is to send the distributor out for rebuild. I have had good success with Jaytan Industries in California. I can't find their website now, but their phone number is (714) 639-1109. There are a few other service providers out there, but I don't recall them offhand...might be references to them here on the forum if you search.

I replaced the internal fuel pump on my 931 with the best price from NewParts.com...

http://www.new-part.com/product-list

For fuel distributor and warm-up valve rebuild, Special T has good prices...

http://www.specialtauto.com/porsche-parts/index.html

Also, best take a good look inside the fuel tank after draining. If that car sat for extended time without fuel, the tank is going to be rusty. I had to get a better tank from Ideola as mine was really bad. I'm finding the same problem on a 924S I recently saved so it's a very common theme.

OBTW - I'm in Lebanon TN just a 100 or so miles east on I-40.

Are those after market or OEM in later models?
