Basically a Pertronix-style pickup to replace the points used in the older style ignition systems.
Less maintenance and more reliable signaling. Doesn't change the ignition curve (for good/bad). _________________ Stefan

I have a Porsche 924 original electronic ignition box in a parts car , some say it is a transistorised system but im not sure of that since im not very technical.. hopefully a car electrician might be able to transfer the system to a car I need preparing since on closer inspection realized it has a 'points' type distributor. Not sure if this will effect performance/ starting etc.

My friend has a pertronix system in his n/a and it works really well. If i still had an n/a car i would definitely do that upgrade, i got tired of constantly readjusting the ignition, when i did a lot of track driving the ignition was slowly creeping away from the optimum point, with power loss as a result.. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

Anyone running Pertronix should have a spare unit in the glove box. Unlike points, when it dies it will die suddenly and completely. _________________ Toofah King Bad

You can replace it with one from a later 924, but you need all of the wiring and the amplifier box from a donor car. I'm sure there's a car in the UK, etc that you might be able to acquire those parts from.
Mittlemor makes one that is completely programmable via laptop, but it isn't cheap, but its probably the best solution for an upgrade outside of the stock pieces.
Some have removed the distributor altogether and gone to distributorless igntion, some have used MegaJoltLite Jr with Ford EDIS ignition components, this also requires a laptop to program the ignition curve.
For you? Install the Pertronix in place of the points, buy a spare Pertronix pickup to leave in the toolkit/glove box and drive the car. _________________ Stefan

Have the car dyno tuned and based off of those results, have the distributor curve altered by a shop that alters distributor curves. Dyno the car again after the changes were made.
They do this by altering the springs and weights inside the distributor.
If you go with a programmable electronic solution, you can alter the curve on the road/dyno, but you will need to dyno tune it to make the correct changes. _________________ Stefan

My problem is that when go for a long time the performances seems decrease.
I think spark plug cables , I buy Ngk on ebay for only 30$, but it's possible even distributor points that fails.
I want try buy this component. _________________ Porsche 924 2.0 na 125hp (1979) euro

Today I installed accuspark ignition system in my distributor, performances are very good and installation don't need to set ignition timing.
Really a good trick, recommended, for performances and reliability.
Costs 50 euro with shipment. _________________ Porsche 924 2.0 na 125hp (1979) euro
