Ok, after a 5 year hiatus, the GTR is back to life.

This was Heimraths 924 GTR. When I bought it, the 2L was gone, and it had an NA 944S2 motor. This is with a NA 968 motor, freshly tuned and set up.

I won't tell you what it made at the rear wheels, but if you come to the Sebring PCA race, you can watch me pull 997 cup cars.....

You do realize that Woodstock is like an hour from my shop, and all you need to do is give me a call if you want to come by and climb all over both the GTR and the D Prod.

Yes, I do, maybe even next week?! I finally have a break in my travel schedule...

I'm not sure when the GTR will be back from Kelly Moss, and it is leaving for Sebring on the 1st.

The week of January 25th looks best.

Shoot me an email, stamper at tromfg.com

Glad to see you got that beast running again. How'd it go at Sebring?

It ran well. Still has some minor off throttle issues, which are common and can never really be dialed out on the dyno.

For example, the car wanted to shut off when you came 100% off throttle at speed, say entering a braking zone. I adjust a lot of it out, but it needs another couple of days on track to fully sort.

My major issue was brakes. Major communication issue, all my fault due to vague instructions via email. I thought KMR flushed and bled out the brakes, and they thought I had done it.

6 year old brake fluid works remarkably well for 5 or 6 laps under racing conditions. Then it stops working.......

When we got back and I pulled the calipers for the rebuild I should have done previously, and we power flushed the lines. I actually got a huge string of what looked like liquid silicone out of the front lines.

Bad on me. It got overlooked in the rush.

I had really forgotten how violent this car is. Not abusive violent, but just very fast transitions. It took a while to remember how to drive it with any semblance of speed. I had also forgotten what Bias Ply slicks felt like.

Still got out grinning after every session.

Next scheduled outing is the April SVRA race at Road America.

You are correct, May, not April.
