The red line is the key groove and I need to now if this position relative to the 'star' is the same with yours.

Hope I make myself clear

I need to know if the position of the red lines are the same, so the key groove (from the star plate) compared to the 'star' lines

hmm...on my S1 that cut looks directly at one of the arms. The pipe has a different angle to the arms compared to your car.
But i'm not sure this S1 has not been messed with as it has some track car hints on it...especially in the way it pulls.

Morghen, many thanks! Your car is als a ROW/ EU version right ?

Indeed it looks like my 'star plate' has been moved by the clip. Angels are different.

Morghen is the white line a straight line from the key groove to the tip of the star, like the white line ?

This is my ROW S1, the silver+blue car.
I only got to check it this evening and i'll look again tomorrow but i'm pretty sure its a straight line from that groove to the tip of the star like you drew it.

EDIT: oh but you see? Your dizzy is just fine, mine has been messed with. See that top brass screw on top of the shaft?
Please ask another ROW S1 owner to confirm. This car i own pulls stronger than my old S2 so i suspect the ignition equipment has been tweaked. The car was owned by Aabott racing, a club racing saabs in the uk.

I have four distributors on the shelf, and they all are oriented as in the above. I don't think US-spec or ROW has anything to do with it, FWIW.

So I agree, Dutchie, your stator is misaligned, and it is quite likely causing the problem you noted in the other thread because the ignition is going to be severely retarded relative to where the rotor tip would end up pointing when you install it onto the shaft.

You're right. And they have that top screw as well. Yours must be just dusty. I wonder what you did that notched it out of place. Good job finding this tho.
