Hi, new member and owner. My 1988 924S is in pretty good shape and running. I plan to do belts and water pump as soon as I sort out the electrical. Here are the issues I am dealing with:

-Headlights will pop up turn, but won't pop back down. I have rebuilt the motor swapped out the motor relay and cleaned up the switch and they are still not working.
-Rear Driving lights don't come on.
-Both windows won't roll down.
-Interior dash lights don't come on.

I have cleaned the one ground under dash I found behind the main fuse box.

Does anyone have any ideas or a good wiring diagram?

Thanks!

Welcome! She looks good!

Clarks-garage.com has some good write-ups and Pelican Parts has some wiring diagrams for the 944.

Hope that helps!

Welcome aboard. We both have the same car a 924S [good choice!]

Sometimes the issue with the windows are the switches in the door panel. Using a flat blade screw driver you can gently pry [prise] them out. The tabs are on the side of each switch. Once you get it stared you can use your fingers to pull them out. Then disconnect the harness from the switch and put them on the kitchen table where you can remove the rocker button on the switch and clean the contacts inside. I used a dremel tool with a small wire brush. Make sure you put the metal rocker contacts back in exactly as you found them otherwise things wont work right. [hopefully the previous owner didn't put them back wrong as well]

Note* the drivers side passenger window switch is linked to the passenger side windows switch if one is not working, neither will the other!

Thanks, I just got done cleaning up the window switches and had no luck. What I am thinking is that the previous owner cut a ground when he was trying to wire in an aftermarket stereo. Going to try and go through the wiring diagram this coming weekend and see if I can sort it out, hopefully I don't have to pull the dash off...

You can apply power directly to the window motors to verify if they actually work before going to far into the wiring.

The motors do fail/seize up from time to time.

Good luck!
