Did the Euro 931s have side markers? These cars look so much better without them.

Euros have no side markers and different bumpers, no cats, higher boost, always g31 in turbos, compression differences, DITC differences. etc.

Some early Euro cars did not have side markers. I have a set of Euro-spec 931 fenders for sale right now, and they do not have accommodation for the side markers. Note the clip for the 931 rocker covers:

I've also been told that the Euro Martini cars didn't have side markers, so I suspect this was true for most Euro cars, possibly up through 1979ish.

My 1981 Euro 931 (now the "Club Sport") had side markers when I got it. I intended to keep them, but my body man misunderstood my instructions and deleted them

As acquired (note the OEM markers in proper location, and the "federalized" markers in front of the wheel):

Euro cars never had side markers. They did have front wing indicators from MY81.

Thanks for the offer but I'm considering just removing mine and closing the holes before sending the car to body and paint. There are other holes that will have to be filled were the PO had the aftermarket spoiler mounted. Might as well make all that nice and smooth. We don't have vehicle inspection here (the car is registered antique anyway) so nobody will give me static.

Not for me. Side markers = reflector discs. Indicators = flashing turn signals

US side markers are running lights, not just reflectors.

These don't flash, aight?

Nope.
Cars intended for the 'North American market' (US/Can) are the only ones who have these round things on all four corners by factory.
Kind regards,
Harm.

I'm with you now regarding the "indicator" distinction.

But early ROW 924/931 did not have the small rectangular indicators, while late (1981-onward????) did, correct?

I've also seen photos of early UK 924s with original paint that have a small Porsche crest sticker in the same position as the rectangular indicators. Probably an aftermarket item put on by owners. I found one just like those for my first 924S and thought it gave the car a racier look.

Euro law dictated all cars made from 1980/81 had to have wing mounted side turn signals/indicators. Porsche installed them on MY/81 from August 1980. Some early 924's which suffered rust or accidents ended up with these indicators even though they aren't needed and therefore confuse some of its real age. No illuminated side markers were required outside of US. Same issue with impact bumpers and emissions control as seen on US models.
