They are supported by the strut brace tower. |

They'll raise the front of the car by about 2" and if you adjust the sprig height to compensate you can run out of strut travel in a hurry.
This is why the undermount camber plates only really work with shorter struts.
Should work well for a Rally car though. _________________ Stefan

Yes that is a problem, I have used standard strut cases with the spring pans cut off and then welded an adjustable platform as low as it will go.
As you say its fine for a rally car where I need some ground clearance.
A shortened strut will be the way to go for tarmac or modify the inner wing to move the upper mount upwards. |

These are a better design:
To give you an idea since you have access to machine tools, it shouldn't be impossible to build something similar with larger base material.
