Starting to reclaim some of the bench and floorspace from my garage again...
fixed a niggling issue with a fuel fitting that had a problematic seal,
re welded the location of the o2 sensors, needed clocking as they were interfering with my heat shields
have to take off the oil pan now as I was getting some leaks, don't think I didn't apply any RTV to the rear of the block as the workshop manual suggests (my bad) but also want to weld on the oil line AN10 fittings whilst it's off and a block off plate around the lower clutch bell housing where the starter is...
Working on getting the brake adapters cnc'd
Stu

Slowly but yes...
One of the front brakes is in, After getting two ridiculous quote from engineering firms I choose to make the adapters myself using a sheet of 20mm plate. The fronts get a couple of weld beads down the lengths too.
Ended up tapping them m12 x 1.5 same as the hubs. Still have to get the right lengths and grades as well.
As a not these fit under 15" and need about .5mm taken off the small rectangle brake crossover molding just under the mazda logo as it just grazes the inside of the rim.
and for the rears, r32 twin pots
old calipers
nissan items
As a note the lines are a different flare aka japanese...

Working my arse off Pete.
Was up Hervey Bay a while ago and took a slight detour back to check this out. Quite impressive, and that was before the motor went in. A lot of detail has gone into this build, from the steering back.
Waiting to go for a drive next time I`m up that way Stu. _________________ World`s quickest 924 2L slushbox

Well if my new oil pressure sensor adapter arrives today I might get a drive...
Engine was pulled, new ported and shimmed oil pump installed, oprv was worn and oil was bypassing back to the sump, cleaned top end lifter bores, oil galleys ,all rockers and pushrods whilst I was at it... Best thing I ever did was make a removalble front cross member.
re made my gauge wiring loom and now have decent cold oil pressure, just the leaking adapter fix and brake bleed to go... _________________ 1981 ROW 924 Turbo -

Update: regarding oil pressure sensor adapter, had to make up a separate earth lead for the gauge as the aeroflow unit was anodized and not conducting... this was run form the threaded side to the block... all works out now...
big thanks to GeorgeV for helping with the brake bleed doing the up down dance...
now I need to get the a arms/sway bar and tie rods back in and do a rough ride height set, finally see just how much weight difference the v8 puts on the front springs and what height my tie rods are running compared to the steering knuckles, eventually will install the heim joints for these that I have...

and it drives now too... took it for its maiden voyage , a little 5 minute spin, accelerates like a beast, stops well although still needs the pads bedded in, staying cool... and could use a wash... need to look into the steering /suspension setup now
Still feels like I have bucket loads to do on this car... _________________ 1981 ROW 924 Turbo -
