I decided to earn some brownie points with the Mrs. by swapping an early race with a trip to Italy. When you find $400 RT air to Milan you can't pass it up!
Of course as soon as I committed to trip I started "jonesing" for a fix. Imagine my surprise when I found out there was an open track day at Monza on the Sunday before my departure!
Thanks to the folks at circuitcompany.it I was able to hire a Lotus Elise (sorry no 924s available!) and do two sessions on the track with an experienced instructor. One of the biggest thrills of my racing life.

Driving around Italy was a lot of fun too. We did 1537Km in a Fiat 500 (almost a Mille Miglia). Driving in Italy, on the Autostrada, on one lane roads through Tuscany, and around Lake Como where Rebecca thought she might meet her end was amazing. You can't beat a Fiat 500 for under $11 a day. _________________ Hayes Lewis
