|
|
Id really like to fit the wheels I already have since i have 6 of them.
they are the 2002 carrera 10spoke lightweights:
the fronts are 17x7. 50et
Right now they have 205/50 on them.
I did a quick test fit, and Im not sure that 225s would fit. The edge of the tire currently is in about the same distance as the 205/16" on the Stock dish rim.
can someone shed some light on this?
I would like to lower the car about 2". Now Im wondering, on the front suspension, when the wheel moves up does it also move in? _________________ It was either this or a giant box of legos |

I run a 215 on the front and have just enough room to clear everything (including tire to spring) with 1.2 deg of camber. _________________ 1973 911-RS 3.2 Track Car

Yes as the suspension compresses it will retract slightly.
Not sure how much though. You could remove the spring and move the suspension using a jack. _________________ Stefan

Wheel and tire fitment is always a "how long is a piece of string" question. Too many variables. Just the tires can be 10-15mm difference in width depending on supplier. My 195 Avons are actually 205mm wide!
Rim width, rim dia, ET, ride height, neg camber etc. etc. etc.
I just fitted what I wanted with the help of a tire fitter and suspension specialist. First choice was 205 45 16 but after a few months swapped to 195 50 16. Horses for courses. Trial and error. _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife
