Well, this is making just the part that attaches to the exhaust so you can keep using the rest of the OE hangers.
As usual, click for bigger pics.

  1. Get all the stuff you need. You need a muffler clamp to fit your exhaust, and get new U-bolts for your exhaust hangers too; those are the U-bolts that go around the torque tube.

  2. Cut the strap that came with your U-bolt in half. You're going to attach the pieces to the exhaust clamp.

  3. Center up your straps with your OE hanger, and measure to ensure you're going to get your exhaust at the right height. Attach with bolts to ensure the alignment is correct.

  4. Weld 'er up. This is what it should look like when you're done.

Some tips:

  • Put the flat side of the OE hanger against your homemade piece, along with a washer.
  • The reason for using the U-bolt straps is they have slots for exhaust adjustment.
  • Put your bolt head next to the U-bolt part of the muffler clamp.
  • The pictures shown aren't in the orientation that they'll be installed on the car. See above tips.

Thanks... Mines been to low for too long as maybe you've noticed. You've made it easy for me to raise it up.
