I went to the southeast Region 944 fest this past weekend.

Here is the link to the rest of my photos of the event.

I met up with another enthusiast from Charlotte and we drove down together. He said that his chipped 951 was having a little trouble keeping up with me.

How my engine bay looks now with the stock air box in place.

A picture taken during the mountain run.

I bought some performance chips while I was there, and shimmed the wastegate when I got home. According to the manufacturer these chips are good for another 43 hp!

I polished my car before the trip. Here is an unaltered picture of the paint on my car before wax.

Yep, they are on the long list of things to do! Although, I probably won't be doing too much work to my car this summer. I have another project that I'm working on, that is swallowing all my cash.

P.S. I wanted to add that my car is just ridiculous with these chips. I had to work to get it to go fast before, but now you can just blip the throttle and you're smoking rather quick cars.

Here's a video from Nick's dash cam of the mountain run.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6c8YnMhK1Q

The guys in front of me were just cruising, so I had to keep backing off. You'll see me leave some room every now and then so I can stomp the gas.

I think I was annoying Nick by braking before the turns, rather than through them, but I'm used to driving much faster though curves, and I have gotten used to never turning the steering wheel while my foot is on the brake...

Also, you can't hear it, but I am spinning all the way up that hill at 4:33.

This week marks a year since I finished the engine swap! I resealed the throttle body this last week, so the car is doing better than ever!

Here's another short ride along.

For those interested; a 951 trans does directly bolt into a 924S. All you have to do is swap the mounts.

Clarks Garage has the 924S transmission listed as the late ROW trans (5Y), but mine was the early ROW box (QK).

http://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/trans-04.htm

The transmissions side-by-side with mounts attached.

The 924S trans has the speed sender hole capped off, so I also swapped it over since I won't be using the sender.

Anyway, I hope that helps!

As of today, I have been on the board ten years!
