Hi fellow 924ers’
For the past 2 years my partner and I have participated in a charity rally that raises money for the Cancer Council. The rally is called the Shitbox Rally (www.shitboxrally.com.au)
It involves driving/nursing a $1000 car approximately 4000km over 7 days.
This year the rally is from Perth W.A to Darwin N.T via some fairly rough dirt roads.
This year we purchased a failed father-son project. A 1981 924. Being a project it is missing a couple of things, one being a wiper relay.
I am wondering if anyone is Australia has one that they are willing to part with? Either as a donation or for cash. I am finding them particularly difficult to come by.
Luckily most other pieces that are missing are cosmetic.
If anyone has any other advice / spare part suggestions / parts donations etc. It would be great to hear from you.
Finally, below is a link to our fundraising page. We are trying to raise a minimum of $4000. It would be very much appreciated if anyone could help. As a bonus, anyone that donates can have their names painted on the car! We might even do a feature on the forum to show progress on the rally!

Thanks

Did you get the white one in Darch off Gumtree?
I too paid a grand for mine.
I live in the northern suburbs, whereabouts are you? _________________ Trust, Then Verify |

Contributed on behalf of Ideola's Garage
Make up a list of stuff you need, and I'll see what I can do to get parts to you...will depend on size and postage expense. I'll also send you a couple of "Circle I" logo decals, which should look smashing on the white paint! _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

This Bronze gem was found in the Perth Hills.
It was a father-son project that didn't progress that far. Luckily the project didn't progress much further than removing the dash to have it re-covered and re-installing it. This has meant that a number of creature comforts were not reconnected (eg. radio, air blower, etc)
Thankfully it is in decent mechanical condition. The main focus at this stage is making sure it will keeps its cool. Currently the second aftermarket fan is not working and is more of a hindrance in stop/start situations.
There are a couple of small electrical issues that I would like to get sorted for safety purposes, such as wipers and horn. If there is anyone local that can offer assistance, it would be great to hear from you. |

The one in Roleystone? Remember the pics on gumtree had lots of wires hanging down beneath the dash.
My horn has just packed up too. It has no feed but relay and fuse seem fine. I've got a neighbour who's a sparky who's going to help me with it. Mechanically mine is ok too but cosmetically it is rough. _________________ Trust, Then Verify |

Yes, thats the one.
Many wires hanging down. It had an issue maintaining charge, turned out to be aftermarket alarm. It has since been removed.
I have a feeling that there were good intentions when reinstalling the dash, but many were not followed through.
Only comfort I do need is the cigarette lighter. Not because I smoke, just need the charger. If anyone has images of which wires connect to it, that would be great!
