Fyi, running "colder" plugs will not make your car run cooler.

Ha, you got me there, I miss spoke.. no they don't,.. I was trying to talk about "colder" as in other things keeping the engine cooler and putting in matching spark plugs for that heat range.

I believe you miss spoke again. Spark plug heat range is not selected by engine operating temperature, a cooler engine doesn't mean you can use cooler plugs either.

In fact its opposite. Hotter engine = colder plug range

That damage has nothing to do with the heat of the plug. Something hit it.

You need to scope it or get the head off and see what broke.

Its going to take more than that though, it won't turn in either direction.

In the mean-time, took my wife's cousin from Munich out in the 911, which we decided to keep, down 89A twisty cliff road from Prescott to Wickenburg. 93 degrees down on the desert floor, a tad warm in the blue car, but much fun.

He's a BMW guy, oh well, he's 80 years old~!

I'm glad you kept the 911. It's a very pretty car.

No, I'm not pulling the engine till I get back to AZ this fall. I have a Series II engine to rebuild in WI, which is preferred over this one anyway.
