Interested in this web site since I have just bought my first Porsche - it is a 1988 924 S with 38,800 miles on it. I even have the original build sheet on this car. Looking forward to learning as much as I can about this truly neat and unique vehicle ....... Plan to continue to autocross and do some track days with the car.
For a look at some photos: http://s222.photobucket.com/user/newsvx/library/1988%20Porsche%20924%20S?sort=2&page=1

G'day, welcome aboard!
Very nice looking car. '88 S is about as good as they get (unless you're a Turbo fiend like some of us ).
The odo's clock at 99,999 miles. So, while I'm not suggesting it is absolutely the case with you car, unless you have some pretty concrete proof it's only done 38,800 miles, it's quite possible it's done 138,800 miles... if the odo. is even still working... which they're usually not.
Still, nice car _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

Thanks .....The 38K miles is accurate -I have all the paperwork, the interior is almost like never sat upon, and original paint. One owner that passed away and his son sold the car ....And everything works on the car, including the speedo ... _________________ 1988 Porsche 924 S

Why not? They are just Bosch parts. Much like the FPR and the injectors and a few other parts in the injection system. Granted the specs and internals aren't likely to be the same, but if you're experimenting and know which way you want the specs to go, you can make it work. _________________ Stefan

Luckily its a narrowed early 944, so lots of information on the 944 shared bits (suspension, drivetrain, EFI, etc.) _________________ Stefan

Took possession of the car today ... added a number of photos to the PhotoBucket album showing the car, "as bought". As you can see, I have a little cleaning up to do on it, but I am overall very pleased as I had more time to look at the car in much greater detail. See the additional photos here:

Also noticed (and corrected) that the throttle cable was extremely loose. Adjusted the slack out of it so the throttle response should be much improved. Got look at a tuneup, 'cause the idle is a bit rough. _________________ 1988 Porsche 924 S
