Great footage... sadly doesn't go all the way to the checker, poor editing, but very exciting to watch!

Awesome. Looks like Doc's car is running a plastic rear window given the flex I'm seeing on some shots.
Also, here's the second part with the finish:

Like the commentary, the 'new' 924, and the 'latest Triumph offering, the TR-7'. Funny though, how many of these cars are at DE's around the country? I never see any down here. _________________ '83 944 Track car.

That was great to watch. Very exciting.
Makes me want to get the parts and make a D-Prod replica for the street. Well I will be honest. That is what I have been wanting to do for a while now. _________________ Cheers;

Thanks for finding the rest, guys!
Re: the TR7 - there's a very good reason you don't want to track one of those! Well, actually, a lot... I was glad to upgrade from mine to the 924!
Amusingly enough, they are a potential competitor in ITB. But I'd never be too worried about my mirrors while sharing the track with one... _________________ Vaughan Scott

The TR7's were "fragile". I was racing a 911 Targa that year and a buddy was in one of the new TR7's. He went through multiple engines so we were surprised to see Lee Meuller run as fast as he did and finish.
Some years later, I raced a TR8 in the Nelson Ledges 24 hour and the engine was the only thing that didn't break. I've never changed so many parts on one car in such a short timeframe. _________________ 1979 924 NA race car

In my search to find an affordable way to put a fuel cell in my car.
(I have this crazy idea about getting my car up to snuff to run the SVRA event at INDY-one must dream)
I came across this...

These clips are awesome. Doc's car looks amazingly quick and responsive. Obviously, he was a formidable opponent, but some of those moves were so cool to see! What a time capsule. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
