I believe the 944 hatch shocks are stronger in order to hold up under the added weight of the spoiler. Try to get the 924 type or be careful when opening the hatch that it does not fly up because the glass will separate. _________________ 77 1/2 track car

Amazon sent me another hatch shock by accident, so now I have two right hatch struts... I know they aren't compatible supposedly, but is it just because of the wiring or is there something physically different? If not does anyone want to trade a right new URO Hatch strut for something? _________________ 924, 82, 5 speed, dark red, 500 dollar special.

Hi guys here's another weekend update. Lets talk about what's on the car right now since I need cash. I also bought a set of flare wrenches today to get them lines off.
So the wheels, these are the wheels.

with black paint.

Also this is weird, what is this part in the back leaking? I sort of thought it was a fuel filter but I could be wrong. I couldn't tell by the smell of the fluid whether it was brake fluid or gas fluid (probably tells you the quality of the gas in the car right now since I haven't been able to put new gas in it).

Fuel pressure Accumulator, the 40cc unit.
924 Bosch # 0 438 170 024
or see PET.
Leaking means it's shot;
Replacement will set you back a ~$ Benjamin
It prevents the "hot-start' problem…
The Fuel Accumulator helps maintaining high fuel pressure
in the hot engine compartment after shut down.

Good luck selling the wheels!

Would replacing this help alleviate the missing on startup until car warms up? _________________ 924, 82, 5 speed, dark red, 500 dollar special.

That's a nice find, hadn't seen that before. Just make sure you can get the correct bubble flaring tool. I've had trouble finding them. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

The ebay seller said he would have one available in a few months. Send him an email asking where he got his, then share with us! Maybe Dan can start carrying them. _________________ 1977 924 N/A Martini Edition |

I bought a set of premade metric bubble flare lines from eBay and avoided having to make bubble flares with the tool, etc. Wish I could find the listing...
The pieces I bought were straight, which made the long runs down the car much easier.
Keep in mind, the lines don't need to be bent exactly the same, just close enough to not have pinched bends, that they are properly supported and matches up with the flex lines. You can gently tweak them as you install them as well.
This is the tool I used the most:
Flaring tools can't be cheap and work well, especially with the bubble flares that these cars use. _________________ Stefan

The freezing weather here has prevented me from tackling the brake line (almost had it fixed, but the rest of the line crumpled so I have to do pretty much all of it now), but I did photograph it properly today so you guys can see the condition.
