Just spent an hour lapping the long course on iRacing.

What a track! I am quite jealous of you guys who are close to this place.

Fast, rhythmic, and there are spots where huge balls are required to go fast. There must be some epic offs on a race weekend.

Anyone got toofah footage?

Yes, Hayes has been doing pretty well there with Chris Marsh/Jeremy Jadczak's old car...

After all these years I still pucker going flat through 4. Yeesh.

I have video someplace from a race at Summit where I come through 10, and as I get near start-finish, a DEER starts to run along the RH side of the track. My mission, of course was to NOT lift and to figure out whether she was going to cut in front of me, run into the side of my car, or miss me and take out my competitor running behind (my preferred option, of course). She darted ax the track about 50 feet in front of me, ran along the LH side of the track for a little while, then bounded over the berm on the left over the fence into the trees.

Had to change my driver's suit after that one.

Yeah, turn 4 (down the chute) is flat on the floor with the 924 but a slight pucker lift in the 911.
In one of the 12 hour enduros I'm the only one of 4 cars that DIDN'T hit the same deer in a mad melee before the brake markers at Turn one in the dark. Over the next several laps, that deer got smacked around quite a bit an took out two radiators and a front suspension. Workers finally got there and cleared the track of debris, dead cars and carcass parts.
In another deer strike at Turn ten, an instructor with students smacked one and trashed the left front of his 944. Students were a bit intimidated.
We've also contributed to population control of snakes, turkeys and ground hogs at Summit.

Maybe flat for Chuck, but I haven't gotten there yet. I strongly suggest you do not watch my videos if your looking for the right way around the track. On the other hand I would watch something from Chuck. He probably has 100x the number of laps I have on the track, literally!

Four may be the "pucker" curve, but it's ten that really matters. When I've come close to getting it right I've made two or three car lengths up on the guy in front.

As it was put to me nearly 30 years ago by the SCCA Head corner worker at Pocono raceway...

Standing yellow: Groudhog next to the track

Waving yellow: Groudhog on the track

Red/Yellow stripes: Debris on the track
