I am slow on the uptake tonight Harm...
On your point about the Monte car, YES, it would appear it never ran again after the 1981 Monte... certainly from the stickers on it in Sinsheim... so it WOULD imply that if Jurgen was in a 924 Turbo on the Metz, then he was in my car... _________________ 5 * 924 Turbo!

^If we could narrow it down to the few rallys (if) Jürgen/0-5 attended it would make it easier to dig up images over that season.

Oder Herr Kussmaul…
There will be little chance of finding the entry list.
I'll add the Metz article. Maybe I miss interpreted the actual subject…

No luck on sourcing the JVC promotional video that was produced during the ralley in Monte Carlo that year in 1981.
Somebody else may have more luck out there finding the JVC-VHS-Cassette between his old man's vintage stash.
Its title is “Monte 81, Video im Härte-Test”
Curious how the rebuild of "Triple O - 5" is coming along.

Well... after several months pushed to the back of the shed, we pulled 0005 out for some investigations... we're still looking for some parts we need and we want all our other projects out the way before we get going restoring her (anyone know of a 924 without sunroof for sale cheap?? We need a new roof!)
I'm going to try and remember how to post pics but this is going to get VERY interesting for us anoraks, I promise you! We made lots of cunning discoveries.
In fact, I'll start a new thread on the car... watch this space.

If you look closely at the pic of the two gentleman in the car, one with a white helmet and one with orange, the driver's suit on the driver clearly says "Jurgen" stitched into the lapel.... |

Just reassuring that 931 #5 was indeed driven by Barth and Kussmaul.
Their main goal was supporting the 924 Rally GTS through the stages
as this was the GTS's maiden voyage: They sure had their hands full…

Apologies!!
Been away for a while chaps, had to solve a few pressing issues and the board didn't tell me there had been updates on this topic.
Firstly, 0005 is still sat as she was... simply not had the time or money to do anything with her... in fact, she may well be going into an auction later this year although re-reading this thread has caused me to fall in love with the story all over again!
Secondly, did someone really manage to read Jurgen on the suit of the guy driving the car on the Metz????
I think Harm has pretty much proved it was him... interested in what the race number on the side of the car in the rear shot is, could it be #12 or #22 to partner with the Carrera GT which was running #2? on the road?
Cheers
