I picked up a 1980 931 cheap because it has bent valves. The odd thing is it has the 4 lug wheels(spider webs) and drum brakes. The vin says it is a 931 but I thought all 931's had 4 wheel disk. Where is the options listed on the car? _________________ 1980 924 N/A Everyday Driver

In the S1, the 5-lug wheels/4-wheel discs were optional.

Says the man driving a stock 79 924...
The stock brakes are "fine" if they are in decent shape and you aren't driving it balls out all the time. However most aren't in good shape as most people fail to adjust the rear drums on a regular basis, so the brakes get spongy. _________________ Stefan
