OK,
heres the deal, got fuel, got spark, timing is right, still wont start !! have done all the checks the manual gives. Are there any 931 hero's in the Portland area that can help me get this turbo started ?
This project still has a long way to go before its road ready, but have to get the engine sorted out before I go on to other things. Any help would be awesome.

How'd you find your intake valves leaking and not say, the piston rings? Did the engine smoke a bit?

there $40 at harbor frieght they screw into your spark plug hole and you put a compressor to it and you hear where they leak ie if its a valve it comes from the intake or exaust if its a head gasket or rings it comes from the oil or coolent.

If it has been sat for a while the piston rings might be seized so put a little oil down the bores and leave them for a while to soak.

Question is did you have it running before or is the first time you have tried? As said above, engine could be tired and need the head reconditioned and rings replacing - what mileage has the engine done????

Have to say the 931 Turbo has been one of the most reliable engines I have ever had the pleasure of owning !!

To the OP, what year is your 931?

In the meantime, two threads you should read first:
