1980 Porsche 931 with M471 non-LSD
It will need lots of work, but the body is straight with few small surface rust
Pull strong with turbo rebuilt last year

Need:
- tranny synchro
- inside is 6/10
- tire
- suspension (struts, shocks, bushing, and probably torsion bars)
- battery tray (leak inside)
- sun roof seal
- weather stripe here and there
- few relay (headlight, signal)

Just pickup 2 hours ago, so I’m sure I will find more.

It will probably be converted to GTS look.

Hey same color as my car, Monaco blue. Not very common and only available in 80 and 81. My car had the black seats with the center being the black with white pinstripe fabric. I thought overall not a bad look. Here is another one to check out.

First on the list, Suspension

- Change the old / dead rear Monroe and front Steady Rider with new Bilstein HD
- KLA strut mount
- 23mm front sway bar
- 16mm rear sway bar with KLA drop link
- New bushing

Planning for the GTS look, I pick up this morning a set of Fuchs in great and original condition with good tire for a good price.
- Front 7JX16 with 205/55/16
- Rear 8JX16 with 225/50/16

Next on the list
- Complete tear of the inside
- Pulling the engine out for cleaning, inspection and fixing oil line liking

Feel free to add your $0.02

I will probably go with the AIR GTS body kit (front bumper, front fenders, rear flares and hood scoop) and euro rear bumper.

Plan for the engine for now, it will probably change many times by the time I do it.

- Manual in cabin boost control
- 951 Intercooler

1980 US have 7.5:1 static compression ratio producing 140 hp
How much boost can I run safely? Remaining of the engine is stock
Is it possible to reach 200 hp with this engine? How?

Thanks

Stock S1 US-spec was 150BHP. You can safely run at least 9-10PSI of boost with no other enhancements (provided you are using good quality 93-94 octane premium gasoline), but I don't know what this translates to in terms of horsepower. Early experimentation with the water/meth kit indicates as much as 15psi of boost without any issue, which is consistent with what others have posted with water/meth injection. There is a BIG difference to the butt dyno between stock 6psi and 12 or 15 psi of boost .

{EDIT}
I doubt that you will be able to reach 200BHP without some form of charge cooling.

I’m not sure what you mean by “charge cooling”, sorry I’m turbo noob

What kink of output (hp) I can expect from 10psi with 951 FMIC?
How much hp a water/meth injection would add to it?

Is "ORSCHE" French-Canadian for Porsche?

Looks like a good find - and the color suits it quite well. Have fun with the GT conversion. I think they're the best-looking cars ever made, and I'd build one but it means having to deal with the 931 engine. Not for me. You must post pics of the build!

Congrats!

If you do the GTS conversion, please don't change the colour. That blue is quite rare and way cool. Blue GTS, that would be awesome!

Agree, it is a nice color

Not sure, I was thinking black
In the other hand, keeping it blue will save me lots of work because I won’t need to paint the inside, door jam, under hood, etc…
???

[quote="924-76"]I’m not sure what you mean by “charge cooling”, sorry I’m turbo noob

Cooling of the air the enters the engine after it has been heated by the turbo. (intercooler, water injection)

I have a 951 intercooler on the shelf but the fact of the matter is I will never install it, it's too much work for me. I'm just going to do water injection someday.

Thanks for the clarification
That would have been my guess but since I already mentioned the 951 intercooler, I got confused.

So, 951 intercooler and water injection could be really interesting?
