Like many 924 owners I'm sure, I had faded and bubbled tinting on my car. I was quoted $250 to remove it, so I thought I would attack it myself. I bought a $25 steamer, and the side window tints came off in about 10 minutes - and in one piece! The rear is taking a bit longer, maybe 1 hour all up, because it was the most damaged and is coming off in smaller bits. But hey - job done!
Start in one corner with a jet of steam until it starts to lift. Keep pushing the corner up with the steam wand until there is enough corner to start lifting. Then, slowly lift as you apply steam. You'll feel the glue give way as you do.

This is much better than what I did. I used a heat gun with a razor blade, and ended up having to use gasoline to get the adhesive off. Thanks for the tip! _________________ 81 924 Weissach Celebration Edition (just traded) |
