Progress. Feels good.

In this picture, you can see the main bearings all inserted and good to go. However, if you have a skeptical eye you will note that I actually goobered up and put bearings 1 & 2 incorrectly in there by accident. I switched them, but was too lazy to take another picture after I did it since I put assembly lube and this picture was full of shiny things. Thankfully Stefan pointed this out to me and I felt like a tard.

They should push in nice and easily. Line up easy and should make a nice solid fit.

Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of dropping the pistons in, I kind of spaced it. But in this pic, the crank has been torqued down and the rods are going to be torqued down next.

Oil pan from the machine shop, super clean.

Rods torqued down to spec.

Another picture.

A picture of everything in, from the top side, pistons dropped in.

If this ends up working out the way I want it (and I found a fuel rail that fits finally), and things end up running properly and easily, I have tossed around the idea of making kits.

Also forgot to add I'm making my own dash readouts via arduino.

So far so good.

Making some nice progress Derek.

Interesting & fun project with the arduino display. Bit more modern than another one started here some years ago (Rich H IIRC) using nixie tubes? So are you configuring it to display multiple inputs or building individual displays and fully customising your dash?

Yeah. I plan on having one for the readout for intake and water temp. Another readout I have is in color and will be for my O2.

On a different note I made lexan windows today

Made a perfect fit. I have to say I'm quite happy and proud of it.

My new fancy LCD came today. Whipped up some code to get it working and started playing with thermistors. The top two are dummy values so you can get an idea of what it will look like when done. The ambient temperature is fully functional. It needs calibrated a bit more but it's getting there.

The best part about this LCD is that with the simple flip of a few tiny switches I can configure my LCD how I want in real time (when it's done anyway).

Not bright enough during the day? NO problem, go blue

Don't like blue?

But man at night time that glare kills. Go red.

Don't like red OR blue? Go to a neutral color, tan.

I can also do ridiculous green, a darker green and a few other colors. Literally think of an RGB combo and you can make it happen.

1 sensor down 2 to go!
