All,
There are several inquiries to the forums but never a definative answer. Can anyone help? The lockout spring is supposed to help prevent hitting reverse on an 1-2 shift. We need some detail as to it's installation. A PIX or detailed description would be greatly appreciated.

I have been tearing through my snailshell lately. I will see if I can get some pictures and any descriptions up for you sometime soon.

If you can also post a close up of the main shift selector fork please that would be appreciated, this is the chisle shaped selector fork (more like a big flat head screwdriver shape) that engages the three different shift rods, it generally wears on one corner so I be interested to see what condition yours is in and the general shap of a newer conditioned one if you have it.
cheers
Stu

Yea I'm interested in this too.

I could not work out how to hook that thing up so it let the shifter rest in the 2/3 gate but apply pressure opposite to the 1/R gate. I ended up installing it in the position where it applies pressure away from the 1/R gate (shifter sits under 4/5 in neutral).
