Not yet. I know I should make and eat the 2 pieces of toast 4 egg

Its a new clutch so by the time the 931 lump is dialed in with
the intercooler! It will be time to swap outthe torque tube and rear
carrier. Something like that.

Well, if you'd have just left it in the damned body it came in you'd not have this problem. Several people warned you that you were setting yourself up for a lot of extra work and here you are.

There's working smart and working hard. Guess which path you're following right now.

Working smart would be to finish the swap properly as the bolts aren't hard to take out (thanks to the lack of corrosion generating material here in the NW) and it takes a couple of days to get it all out and back in (I did mine myself using a jack and some jack stands)

well so far I plan to finish my engine and bolt it on the torque and tranny altogether, and lift the car like say 3 feet in the air and slide it under the car and then just desend the car enough and then raise tne engine and trany into place, even though its arder to raise the car, its easier to bolt just 4 bolts,

then tthe carrier, front suspension + xmember and bleed the brakes

I know its not the best approach , but i do prefer to have the drive train assemble and not worry about havving to slide the TT and trany back n forth while ataching to the engine

you could assemble everything outside, check fit and use my approach

what I mean is that if your gonna take those two out, it be a perferct time to attach the engine and the torque tube and tranny in one shot while the carrier and all else is out of the way.

Really. The suspension fasteners I pulled from that salvage car I parted out a while back still had white "torque" paint on them, and were yellow and shiny.

Not necessary to touch the tt or tranny.

An example or two does not a statistical sample make. I've seen some pix of pretty nasty rusted out heaps in the PNW.

Regardless of anecdotal experience, the point I was driving at is that there's no guarantee those bolts will come out...simply offering a friendly suggestion to go into that particular project aware of at least one of the potential obstacles. I've had the same experience as Rasta with cars that spent their whole life in Michigan, but I've also had at least three cars where those bolts were frozen solid. The disimilar metal (steel-to-aluminum) is not a nice combination if corrosive agents get in there, despite the factory zinc coating on the bolts.

Yep, and this was one of them! Not questioning your overall advise, just seconding Stef on the bolt issue.

I've never understood how the nastiest looking heaps can have like-new hardware throughout the chassis, and then the ones that look great on the surface are just completely rotted out underneath. That 924S I dismantled a while ago looked great up top, but the suspension, trans, and exhaust was fused mess of oxidation.
