Hi guys, I'm looking into clutch options for my supercharger project (240bhp target) - I need to decide on a clutch so I can then decide on a gearbox plan - keep my audi 5 speed (remember i'm in UK) 20mm input from the NA, swap in all the donor parts from the 931 snailshell (which most likely will need a rebuild) or swap in a 944/951 box and TT - so my question is ....

1) What BHP and torque have people been able to run with an 2.0L NA standard clutch?
2) What BHP and torque will a 931 standard clutch handle?
3) What BHP and torque will a Bronco II clutch handle??
4) Any experience from using 'Staged' clutches on a fast road car? (OK or a PITA in traffic??)

Cheers, John.

From my personal experience:

-931 clutch holds 200-230 HP no problem.
-944 gearbox will hold for sprinted driving on the streets (200-230HP)

I think that if you want over 200HP you have to swap the 944 torque tube and gearbox.

You might take a look at this thread:

It has some power handling numbers and considerations on a supercharged NA motor. I also converted to a 944 trans and tube at the same time.
