. . .was when I drove Shaggy over to the shop for his motor work.

Getting frustrated.

Getting depressed.

Getting cynical.

Wondering if this will ever end?

Painful. I was still sick from the Omaha flu/cold and had to fix the spiker. Now fixed. You have to wait for the UTCIS marching band to show up!

So I have a month to pull the motor in the 931 fix the seal and put it back together, break in a clutch, and get everything tuned.

Really?!?!? I hate to say it, but they must really not care about your car. There's no excuse for that!

I know the feeling, although in my case the circs are different. Mand started working on my 944 over a year ago and she's not finished yet. In her case she does bodywork all day long for a boss who's a jerk and then sometimes just can't find the gumption to do it in the evenings. Granted, the 944's body was in rough shape, but still, I've been without the car for so long it's making me mental.

So mental I bought another 944 to get me through...

That actually works. If you're able to keep it road worthy.

I finally get the 941 done, had a whole 3 months of driving then discover the pesky fouling plug is due to a floating valve stem Now I gotta rush to get the club sport done before snow flies, and then build a new motor for the 941 while working on the club sport body over the winter. All this while doing the usual preventive maintenance on SONIC & GEBLASN (brakes on both cars this season, plus new hydraulics on GEBLASN for good measure). All this means the UWB project will go into its 6th year. Will 2011 be the year?

It was about November when I parked my 931 with a bad lower end (knocking!). Haven't touched it since. I've been too busy building my new racecar... which has taken about 6 months too long at this point, and I've missed nearly the entire race season. We still haven't even fired up the motor in that one; it took half the summer just to get it on the ground!

Yeah, stuff happens.

Just got an email from Unwired Tools promising that a new UTCIS unit will ship from AZ Monday or Tuesday. With any luck, I'll be driving Shaggy (with boost enrichment ) by mid-week.

Cripes, I don't even really know how the suspension and brake refreshes are working out! Or even how the motor turned out!

AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
