Joe, where do you find the time for all that? I'm looking forward to seeing it progress.

Well, as for "exciting things done to car" I've sold my 84 Euro 924. I got $2,000CDN for it and threw in a head gasket set and a spare head, plus some trim and such. It went to a guy who is turning out to be as rabid about these cars as we are.

I've swung a deal on an 84 944 in the same color as the Euro was (Gemini grey) and will be picking it up sometime in the next couple of weeks. I got the 944 for $1,500 from a friend as a favor (he's already got two of them) after helping him out with some of his 944 issues in the past. I'm pretty excited about the whole thing!

Cheers!

Mount a license plate upside down on the orange bumper? Kidding, kidding.

Looks great! What kind of spray gun did you use?

Joe that is some great work there! Are you worried about the paint not matching since you’re doing it in pieces? Just wondering.

I 2nd that and silver to boot. Even with base/clear ...

Ok, I was trying to 2nd this but you just replied.

Silver is tricky once hung on a car. From different angles one panel may appear dark and the one next will be lighter. Try hanging two next to each other on saw horses. Say like a fender to a door and walk around it.

Otherwise looks nice

I should add that the effect will change the other way at another angle. Lighter becomes darker and dark becomes light. It has to do with the way the metallic particles are laid out during curing. Gravity messes with them while the paint is wet. I know things are better now but still not perfect. Guys either shot the whole car or at least hung the panels in the mounted orientation. Hang a fender on a saw horse when painting and not lying on a table for example.

I play that game in the car while driving around. Find the car that has been repainted because it obvious if you know the clues. Too much orange peel, no orange peel ('cause the wet sanded and buffed), metallic cars with differing colors at different angles, etc.

Look at this nice huh. I did alot in 5 hrs I sprayed sealer on the tub and doors and put on base coat and cleared it all. I think it all matches pretty good.

Heres the tub in paint........ base first.

Now clear....

and a fender set in place...

The doors (not the rock band).

Well then it got dark.
